Johns Hopkins – Bayview Hospital Baltimore, MD 18 months 1 every 6 months Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Residency Program The Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Residency Program at Johns Hopkins Bayview allows PA residents the opportunity to train at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions for a career in emergency medicine. Residents are paid a stipend of $46,000 per year (a total of $69,000 for the entirety of the 18-month residency), and are provided life, AD&D, short-term disability and malpractice insurance. Medical, dental and vision plans also are offered, as well as continuing medical education funds. All residents receive paid time off. Texas Children’s Hospital Pediatric Surgery Houston, TX 12 months 6 Students Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship Providing advanced pediatric surgical training to physician assistants The Pediatric Surgery Fellowship for Physician Assistants is the first of its kind in the country to offer a 12-month didactic and clinical pediatric training program to physician assistants. Our fellowship ensures a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a full spectrum of pediatric surgical subspecialties, and to become a leader in all areas of pediatric surgery. Surgical subspecialties include: congenital heart surgery, general pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery, otolaryngology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, trauma, urology, and an innovative new addition, surgical hospitalist. Mercer-Piedmont Heart Atlanta, GA 12 months 2 Students Mercer-Piedmont Heart Physician Assistant Residency in Advanced Cardiology About the Program The Mercer-Piedmont Heart Physician Assistant Post-Graduate Residency in Advanced Cardiology is a collaborative effort between the Mercer University Physician Assistant Program and Piedmont Heart. Residents will participate in the admission and consultation of cardiac patients to the intensive care units. Responsibilities will include rounding on nights, weekdays, and weekends. Residents will rotate through cardiac subspecialties including, but not limited to, general and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, and cardiothoracic surgery. The residents will acquire skills necessary to contribute to the management of advanced cardiac disease pathophysiologies, such as cardiogenic shock, advanced coronary disease, cardiac arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease.
