The mission of the Duquesne University Department of Physician Assistant Studies is to: Prepare trainees with the necessary knowledge and skills to reliably perform the role of a physician assistant beyond the typical classroom settings by utilizing simulation, clinical immersion, telemedicine, electronic medical record, and other current technologies, Promote lifelong responsibility for ongoing learning and active participation in the evolving practice of medicine and changing healthcare environments. Students will benefit from examples of leadership and strategies to deliver quality care in collaboration with other health-care professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes, Instill a professional and ethical identity in each student based on the education for the mind, heart, and spirit that is achieved at Duquesne while embracing broadly defined diversity and inclusion in patient care, Recruit and retain faculty who share a goal for delivering a comprehensive curriculum, serve as role models and mentors, and are willing to contribute to the profession via service and scholarship.

Wake Forest University (Bowman Gray) Physician Assistant Program

The Physician Assistant Program at Wake Forest School of Medicine is a graduate level program that awards a Master of Medical Science (MMS) degree after 24 months of study. The Wake Forest PA Program is approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) for 64 students at our Winston-Salem campus and up to 32 students at our new expanded campus at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Accreditation for the Boone cohort was granted in September 2013, and the first students will enroll in June 2014. The Boone campus has also been approved by SACSCOC.

Texas Children’s Hospital Pediatric Surgery Houston, TX 12 months 6 Students Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship Providing advanced pediatric surgical training to physician assistants The Pediatric Surgery Fellowship for Physician Assistants is the first of its kind in the country to offer a 12-month didactic and clinical pediatric training program to physician assistants. Our fellowship ensures a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a full spectrum of pediatric surgical subspecialties, and to become a leader in all areas of pediatric surgery.
