Bassett Healthcare Cooperstown, NY 12 months 2 Student Physician Assistant Surgical Residency Program The physician assistant surgical residency is an intensive 13-month program administered by the department of surgery at Duke University Medical Center. PA surgical residents are members of the surgical team and are involved in preoperative, intra-operative, and postoperative patient care. Mercer-Piedmont Heart Atlanta, GA 12 months 2 students About the Program The Mercer-Piedmont Heart Physician Assistant Post-Graduate Residency in Advanced Cardiology is a collaborative effort between the Mercer University Physician Assistant Program and Piedmont Heart. Residents will participate in the admission and consultation of cardiac patients to the intensive care units. Responsibilities will include rounding on nights, weekdays, and weekends. Residents will rotate through cardiac subspecialties including, but not limited to, general and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, and cardiothoracic surgery. The residents will acquire skills necessary to contribute to the management of advanced cardiac disease pathophysiologies, such as cardiogenic shock, advanced coronary disease, cardiac arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease. We are very proud to be part of the growing interest in Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) Residency Programs in the country and would like to share with you some of our program’s distinguished attributes. Our vibrant urban setting, affords us the opportunity to care for a diverse and challenging patient population presenting with various medical needs. Because Einstein houses a Level I Trauma Center, our residents frequently treat trauma patients with multiple and severe injuries while working closely with other disciplines including surgery and orthopedics.
